Elon Musk has called for a “wave of impeachments” of federal judges after several rulings against Trump administration policies. The calls came after U.S. District Judge John Bates ruled that the Trump administration must restore federal health datasets removed under an executive order banning the promotion of “gender ideology.” Musk criticized the decision, citing a potential conflict of interest with the judge, and suggested broader judicial impeachments. Additionally, Musk pushed for the impeachment of another judge, Paul A. Engelmayer, who blocked his Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) access to Treasury data. Engelmayer argued that the data access could compromise personal information and Treasury systems. Trump has been critical of the rulings but has stated his intent to comply. Meanwhile, FEC Chairwoman Ellen Weintraub resisted a termination order from Trump, asserting the removal was illegal and vowing to remain in office.
